During the first quarter of 2026, Ansley Cove Healthcare and Rehabilitation was under the ownership of Louis Garrard, according to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This Orange County nursing home has been held by Garrard since Dec. 23, 2024.

The facility operates as a for-profit nursing home.

At that time, the facility recorded an overall CMS rating of 2, which falls below Florida’s statewide nursing home average of 3.3. CMS calculates facility ratings by considering health inspections, staffing levels, and the quality of care delivered to residents.

The data shows that Ansley Cove Healthcare and Rehabilitation provided care to an average of 28 residents daily in the first quarter of 2026, with 39 beds available. The home does not operate as a hospital-based facility.

Ansley Cove Healthcare and Rehabilitation reported a total of $87,552 in fines from one issued citation and incurred a single penalty during that same period.

There were a total of 24 for-profit nursing homes in Orange County, Florida.

Based on U.S. Census Bureau estimates, the population of older adults in the United States continues to rise while numbers in younger age groups decrease. Between 2020 and 2024, citizens age 65 and above grew by 13%, while the younger population below 18 addressed a 1.7% decline. The older adult population has increased sharply in the past hundred years, growing from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million by 2024.

Findings from a 2021 study indicate that nearly half of Americans in this age group, or about 28 million people, might eventually require long-term services and support. Projections from the same study show that over a third of these individuals could need nursing home care in the future.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
