The City of Apopka announced on May 18 that it is accepting applications for the Apopka Youth Commission for the 2026-2027 year. The program offers students a chance to connect with city government and participate in community projects during a one-year term. Applications are open until Friday, July 31 at 5 p.m., and applicants will be notified of their status during the first week of August.
The initiative aims to give young people insight into local government while encouraging civic engagement. Students who join will have opportunities to contribute to various projects that benefit the community.
“The Youth Commission is an incredible opportunity for students to get a real glimpse of how local government works and, in turn, be involved in giving back to the community through the many projects we carry out throughout the year,” said Marlon Diaz, Youth Commission Liaison.
Interested students can apply online by visiting the Apopka Youth Commission page before the July 31 deadline. For more information about joining or details about the application process, Diaz can be reached at 407-703-1700 or by emailing AYC@apopka.net.
Applications opened on May 18 and close on July 31 at 5 p.m., with notifications set for early August. The program continues to serve as a way for young residents to learn about city operations and make meaningful contributions.
