The City of Apopka announced on March 31 that the voting equipment to be used in the upcoming early voting and run-off election will be available for public testing and final inspection at the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Warehouse, located at 119 West Kaley Street, Orlando. The testing is scheduled for Thursday, April 2, at 10 a.m.

This notice is important because it provides transparency in the election process and allows candidates or their representatives to verify that the machines are functioning properly before they are sealed for use. Early voting in Apopka will take place from April 6 through April 12 at two locations: the Apopka Community Center / VFW Post #10147, located at 519 South Central Avenue in Apopka, and at the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office on West Kaley Street in Orlando. The run-off election is set for Tuesday, April 14.

Candidates or their representatives may participate in testing the machines as permitted under Florida Statute 101.5612. “Notice is hereby given that the voting equipment to be used in the City of Apopka Early Voting…will be available for testing and for final inspection prior to being sealed…at 10 AM, on Thursday, April 2,” said Susan M. Bone, City Clerk.

The announcement was also published in Spanish to ensure accessibility to all community members. The notice states that candidates or their representatives can test the machines during this session according to state law.

By offering this opportunity for inspection and participation by interested parties ahead of early voting and Election Day, city officials aim to maintain integrity and confidence throughout local elections.
