The City of Apopka announced on May 7 that it has proclaimed the week of May 3 through May 9, 2026, as Professional Municipal Clerks Week. The proclamation was made by Nick Nesta, Mayor of the City of Apopka, Florida.
The recognition highlights the important role that municipal clerks play in local government. According to the proclamation, “the Office of the Professional Municipal Clerk is the oldest among public servants” and serves as a key link between citizens and various levels of government.
Nesta said in the proclamation, “it is most appropriate that we recognize the accomplishments of the Office of the Professional Municipal Clerk.” He further extended appreciation to Susan Bone, identified as Apopka’s Professional Municipal Clerk, and all municipal clerks for their dedication and service.
The document also notes that professional municipal clerks are committed to neutrality and impartiality while providing information about local government functions. It acknowledges their ongoing efforts to improve administration through participation in educational programs and professional organizations.
Apopka City Commissioners joined Mayor Nesta and members of the City Clerk’s Office during a presentation with the official proclamation on May 6.
