Rep. Cory Mills, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 7th district since 2023, has recently used his social media platform to comment on ongoing federal budget negotiations and highlight the importance of defense innovation in Central Florida.
On November 4, 2025, Mills criticized Senate Democrats for their handling of the government shutdown, writing: ” DAY 35 of the Schumer Shutdown

The following day, Mills drew attention to how political gridlock impacts military personnel: “While Democrats play politics, our uniformed men and women are forced to keep working with no paycheck. Cory Mills succeeded Stephanie Murphy as representative for Florida’s 7th congressional district beginning in 2023. Born in Winter Haven in 1980 and currently residing in New Smyrna Beach at age 42, Mills has positioned himself as an advocate for both federal employees affected by government funding disputes and regional economic interests tied to national security operations.
