On June 12, 2025, Mills expressed his support for Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, highlighting the Secretary’s efforts in maintaining a “lethal ready military.” In his tweet, Mills noted that Hegseth was “sharp and strong” during a hearing with the House Armed Services Committee Republicans, adding that he is honored to work alongside him for the American people.

He described the act as a “game-changer,” emphasizing its potential to cut trillions in wasteful spending.
