Rep. Cory Mills, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 7th district since 2023, marked the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023 attack with a series of posts on social media reflecting on the event and his actions in its aftermath.
On October 7, 2025, Mills wrote: “Two years since the October 7, 2023 attack — we remember the lives lost, the families shattered, and the pain still felt. May their memory be a blessing and may peace still someday prevail. After that brutal attack, I stepped in to rescue Americans left behind by the previous https://t.co/pCOtXxj0R5”.
Later that day, he expanded on his involvement following the attacks: “Two years ago today, Hamas launched brutal terrorist attacks against Israel, leaving hundreds of Americans stranded in a war zone. In the days that followed, I led a series of urgent rescue missions—working with a dedicated team to evacuate over 250 Americans, including Rep. Bill https://t.co/4MTmv8tHVc”.
In another post from October 7, Mills commented on ongoing political disputes regarding government funding: “Mike Johnson has it right. The Schumer Shutdown is torching $15B/week in GDP — why? Because Chuck Schumer would rather bankroll healthcare for illegals and propaganda from NPR than fund our military or secure the border. This isn’t leadership. It’s sabotage.”
Cory Mills succeeded Stephanie Murphy as representative for Florida’s 7th district beginning in January 2023 and currently resides in New Smyrna Beach after being born in Winter Haven in 1980.
