Rep. Cory Mills, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 7th district, has made a series of statements regarding the One Big Beautiful Bill and its impact on essential programs such as SNAP and Medicaid. Mills replaced Stephanie Murphy in Congress in 2023 and has been vocal about his positions on social welfare policies.
On July 2, 2025, Rep. Cory Mills addressed accusations from Democrats concerning the One Big Beautiful Bill’s effect on social programs. He asserted that “The Democrats are LYING when they say the One Big Beautiful Bill is cutting access to essential programs like SNAP and Medicaid.” Mills claimed that the bill actually protects these programs, maintaining their full availability for eligible individuals.
Later, on July 3, 2025, Mills questioned why certain groups should receive taxpayer-funded benefits. He tweeted, “If you are an able bodied man or woman, or an illegal alien then why should you be given tax payer money on Medicare and Medicaid?” This comment highlights his stance on restricting government assistance to specific demographics.
In another tweet on July 3, 2025, Rep. Mills criticized what he perceives as misinformation from opposing political factions. He shared a message stating that “The lies the left keeps telling are out of control.” Additionally, he provided resources labeled “MYTH BUSTERS” to inform constituents about Republican efforts benefiting Americans.
Cory Mills was born in Winter Haven, Florida in 1980 and resides in New Smyrna Beach at age 42.
