Rep. Cory Mills, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 7th district since 2023, posted several messages on social media over Memorial Day weekend, addressing both national security events and the significance of the holiday.
On May 24, Mills responded to an incident involving former President Trump near the White House, stating, “Grateful to hear President Trump is safe after the shooting near the White House this evening. Thank you to the brave Secret Service agents and law enforcement officers who acted immediately to protect lives. There is no place in America for political violence, and every leader”.
The following day, May 25, Mills published two posts recognizing Memorial Day. In his first message he wrote, “This Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Their courage, service, and love of country will never be forgotten. As we gather with family and friends, let us remember the heroes who gave everything to protect the freedoms”. Later that day he added, “This Memorial Day, we honor the heroes who gave everything for our country I took questions from Americans about the brave men and women we remember today.”
Cory Mills was born in Winter Haven, Florida in 1980 and currently resides in New Smyrna Beach. He succeeded Stephanie Murphy as representative of Florida’s 7th district in 2023.
