Rep. Cory Mills, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 7th district since 2023, recently used his official Twitter account to acknowledge National Military Appreciation Month, Teacher Appreciation Week, and Cinco de Mayo in a series of posts.
On May 4, 2026, Mills posted about National Military Appreciation Month: “May is National Military Appreciation Month, a time to recognize all who have worn the uniform in defense of our nation. We honor those currently serving, our veterans, and the families who stand beside them. And we solemnly remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, heroes” (May 4, 2026).
Later that day, he turned his attention to educators during Teacher Appreciation Week with another post: “During Teacher Appreciation Week, we thank the dedicated educators who serve more than 2.8 million students across Florida. The 2024–2025 high school graduation rate for Florida schools reached 92.2%, the highest in state history, up 2.5 percentage points from the year prior.” (May 4, 2026).
On May 5, Mills also marked Cinco de Mayo with a brief message: “Happy Cinco De Mayo!” (May 5, 2026).
Cory Mills was born in Winter Haven, Florida in 1980 and resides in New Smyrna Beach at age 42. He succeeded Stephanie Murphy as representative for Florida’s 7th district after her term ended in early 2023.
