Rep. Cory Mills, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 7th district since 2023, recently highlighted key legislative priorities and his stance on fiscal policy in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On April 30, Mills emphasized the significance of agriculture to his district and national security, stating, “Food security is national security. Agriculture is a critical sector of Florida’s 7th District, with local farms, from citrus and orange groves to berries and peaches, fueling our economy and feeding our communities. That’s why I supported the Farm, Food, and National Security”.
Later that day, Mills addressed recent legislative developments regarding homeland security funding. He wrote on April 30: “The House passing the Department of Homeland Secruity (DHS) funding bill is an important step toward protecting our nation and keeping critical agencies operational. But there’s still work ahead. ICE and CBP were left out, and that must be fixed. Securing our homeland requires a”.
On May 3, Mills shared his rating from Club for Growth as evidence of his economic philosophy: “A 97% lifetime score with Club for Growth reflects where I stand: fighting tax increases, pushing back on reckless government spending, and working to root out waste, fraud, and abuse. I’ll keep standing up for economic freedom and making sure Washington works for the American”.
Cory Mills succeeded Stephanie Murphy in Congress in 2023 after being elected to represent Florida’s 7th district. Born in Winter Haven in 1980 and residing in New Smyrna Beach at age 42, Mills has positioned himself as an advocate for agricultural interests within his district as well as fiscal conservatism at the federal level.
