In a post made at 20:06 UTC, Mills stated, “Shutdowns are a symptom of a broken system— they hurt Americans and waste billions. I’m proud to cosponsor @RepDustyJohnson’s House version of the Eliminate Shutdown Act. This bill forces Congress to act without holding the country hostage.”
Later that evening at 21:10 UTC, Mills addressed delays in passing funding legislation, writing, “Every day Hakeem Jeffries & Chuck Schumer refuse to pass the House’s clean funding bill, vital services for veterans & their families are at risk. 17,800 VA workers face furloughs Suicide prevention & mental health programs rely on this funding.
