Junior second baseman Sierra Humphreys was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Third Team, as announced by the organization on May 27. Humphreys became only the second player in University of Central Florida program history to earn this recognition, joining UCF Hall-of-Famer Shelby Turnier, who received First Team honors in 2015.
Humphreys started all 61 games for the Knights during a season that saw the team achieve its most prolific offensive performance. She set personal single-season bests in batting average (.379), on-base percentage (.454), slugging percentage (.712), runs scored (48), hits (67), doubles (15), home runs (14), total bases (126), and RBI (57). She also matched her previous season high with 26 walks.
Throughout the year, Humphreys ranked among program leaders in several categories, including fourth in RBI and double plays turned, fifth in batting average and slugging percentage, sixth in total bases, seventh in on-base percentage and home runs, and tied for ninth in doubles. Entering her senior season next spring, she is second all-time at UCF with a .359 career batting average.
Highlights from her season included a strong start where she hit .477 over her first 16 games and homered in three consecutive contests against Maryland, Missouri, and Northwestern. She provided key hits throughout conference play and postseason appearances. Notably, she joined teammates Aubrey Evans and Izzy Mertes by matching Stephanie Best’s single-game home run record with three homers against Houston on March 29.
Humphreys concluded her campaign hitting safely during both NCAA Los Angeles Super Regional matchups with UCLA. Her fourteenth home run of the year contributed to a historic milestone for UCF softball: five players reached double-digit home run totals for the first time within one season.
