Geystone Healthcare Management Corp., manager of healthcare facilities and home health agencies in Florida, Illinois and Missouri, is pleased to announce that Dr. Tonya Agard has joined as Medical Director for the Apopka Health and Rehabilitation Center. In this role, she will provide clinical education and oversee the Quality Assurance process and readmission rates for the center to ensure the best clinical outcomes.
Dr. Agard has been a practicing Internal Medicine Physician in the Central Florida Region for the past 22 years. Moving to the area after earning her Medical Doctor Degree from Penn State University, she completed her residency for Orlando Health, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Agard currently manages her own practice, Mid Florida Hospital Specialists, which provides medical services at eight area hospitals in three distinct hospital systems.
In addition to managing her practice, Dr. Agard has served as a member of Advent Health’s Medical Staff for over 20 years. She has been involved in various positions from peer review to Campus Chief of Staff. Currently, she is serving at the system level of Advent Health medical staff leadership after holding various positions for over the last six years, including Medical Staff President.
Dr. Agard continually advocates for patients and physicians outside of the hospital. She uses her leadership and experience by actively participating in medical society leadership, the FMA and Medical advisory teams for insurers.
Located at 2001 Alston Bay Blvd, Apopka Health and Rehabilitation Center joins Greystone’s existing North Florida locations, The Lakes of Clermont Health and Rehabilitation Center; Woodland Health and Rehabilitation Center; Isle Health and Rehabilitation Center; and Riverwood Health and Rehabilitation Center in providing quality patient care and customer service.
