Dr. Bogdan Daraban to Join Barry University as Dean of the Andreas School of Business

Barry University, School of Professional and Career Education issued the following announcement on July 22

Dr. Bogdan Daraban, a leader in higher education, an accomplished economist, and skilled administrator, will head Barry University’s Andreas School of Business as Dean, effective August 2, 2021. He comes to Barry from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, where he served for 14 years, most recently as Associate Dean and Professor of Economics.

“Dr. Daraban brings to Barry incredible talent, but also a passion for our Mission and our student-centered approach to higher education,” said Barry University Provost, Dr. John Murray. “He impressed the search committee with his enthusiasm towards academic leadership, innovative ideas and strategic vision. We are confident he will lead the Andreas School of Business to new heights.”

Dr. Daraban stressed that he was drawn to Barry’s talented faculty, staff, and students as well as the transformative student experience anchored in the University’s Adrian Dominican heritage. “I am excited about putting my entrepreneurial energy and strategic planning skills to work to provide Barry students with heightened opportunity for experiential, action-based learning,” he said. “This approach, combined with world-class academic instruction, will elevate our graduates and the workforce of the future.”

Dr. Daraban earned his Bachelor of Science in Production Management in Construction from Polytechnic University (Romania) and his Master of Science and PhD in Economics, both from Florida State University.
