Why Choose a Career in Healthcare

Healthcare

Omega Medical Imaging issued the following announcement on July 20

If you’re looking for an exciting and fast-paced career, then a career in healthcare might be for you. There are many different opportunities to work in healthcare. Many of the same jobs you see in other industries, you see in healthcare too – jobs like accounting, purchasing, sales, service, production, just to name a few. But a career in healthcare can offer a lot more than those same roles in most other industries.

Healthcare is a broad term and a career within healthcare is even broader. Working in healthcare does not limit you to earning a degree in medicine or even to working in a healthcare facility. A career in healthcare can have many paths and go in many directions. There are endless opportunities with organizations that provide products, services, and support within the healthcare field – indirectly making a difference in the lives of others.

Why should you choose a career in healthcare? There are many reasons, but perhaps the most rewarding is helping others – making a difference. How many careers can offer the opportunity to make a life-changing or life-saving impact on others? How many other industries can really provide you the chance to improve someone’s quality of life? A career in healthcare is spent making a difference in the lives of others. This not so simple fact can dramatically improve your level of job satisfaction – your career satisfaction.

Not feeling the altruism? That’s OK. A career in healthcare can provide excellent pay and benefits too. Most healthcare careers offer above-average pay and that’s high on the list of many job seekers. So too is a career’s outlook. Due to an aging population, the healthcare industry is booming. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects healthcare occupations to grow 15% by 2029 – more than any other occupation. And there are opportunities at all levels of education – high school, college, medical, or other advanced degrees such as engineering.

What about your day-to-day environment? Healthcare professionals experience a face-paced workday filled with continually changing situations with new challenges and rewards every day. No day is the same!

And if you go into sales – such a medical device sales – you can add flexibility and autonomy to the list. Medical sales reps often have a lot of independence in their day-to-day routine and have the autonomy to manage their territory – and control how much they earn.

A career in healthcare offers a lot. It’s also a career where you can make a difference. The opportunity to be part of a product or technology that can change lives and even save them is a great feeling. At the end of the day, people want a career they can enjoy, one that pays them well – but having a direct impact on the well-being of others is a reward unto itself.

If you’re ready to choose a career in healthcare or advance the one you already have, Omega has several exciting career opportunities available.
