Seminole State College of Florida recently issued the following announcement.
The Seminole State Cross Country program has never run in Georgia. While the results were not everything that the team had hoped, raising the visibility of the still new program and being in front of a lot of NCAA Head Coaches is always important. Cross Country Head Coach (and AD) Kurt Esser told the Runnin Raiders, "this is only September. Our goals are to improve throughout the season and be ready for the Regional meet in October."
Freshman Sam Henery was the top placing Male Runner (52nd scoring) and team captain, Joe Royston (So.) finished 56th. The team placed 11th out of 13 schools. On the women's side, freshman Christina Labrato placed 64th in her first collegiate meet.
SSC will travel to Gainesville on Saturday for the Mt. Dew Relays.
Director of Athletics, Kurt Esser assumed coaching duties in August 2020 due to the late resignation of the previous coach. The Raiders do have three female runners in 2021 and are looking for more. Please contact Coach Esser if interested.
