Raider Athletics Homecoming Recap

1

Seminole State College of Florida recently issued the following announcement.

The Seminole State Athletics Department held the 4th annual (minus a Covid year) Homecoming Weekend on November 12 and 13. It was a smashing success. The Friday Night Reception at TopGolf got things rolling for the alums. The former Raiders mingled, hit golf balls and shared stories of their favorite moments at Seminole State. A highlight of the evening was the awarding of the National Championship Rings to the 2021 Women's Golf Team. Seminole State College President, Dr. Georgia Lorenz and Coach Christa Teno passed out the rings to a cheering crowd (team pictured right).

Athletic Director Kurt Esser on the evening, "What a fun night for all. We had close to 80 RSVP's for this event. The weekend keeps growing and getting better! The TopGolf facility is fantastic and we appreciate their support that included a few free hitting bays."

During the latter parts of the reception, the discussions turned to Saturday's Alumni Softball game. The alums were discussing who had practiced recently, who was in playing shape and who might be a little concerned. The great thing about alumni games, the Raiders always win. Alas, the current team did win, there were no injuries and a great time was had by all.

Post game, the teams, family and friends then headed to the Raider Center for tours and more stories of the "old H building" and the challenging weight room in the D building. Many of the alums noted that they wish they could now train in the $8 million dollar facility.

Finally, it was time to say good-bye and begin planning the 5th annual Raider Athletics Homecoming!
