City of Longwood recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Longwood is happy to announce the purchase of the property at 451 and 455 West Warren Avenue, adjacent to Reiter Park. This 3.54-acre property is intended to be
the future home of the City of Longwood Fire Station #15 and is a significant step towards this long-awaited project which will ensure the city remains prepared to respond to
emergencies. With a prime piece of property just outside of the Historic Downtown, the City also now has the ability to move municipal uses to this site and open up existing City
properties to make our Downtown even better. Staff is currently exploring a number of grant opportunities and funding options to help fund the construction of the fire station, and
design is scheduled to begin later in 2022.
