19 Knights Merit Preseason All-AAC Mention

Nineteen UCF football players—led by first-team picks Davonte Brown, Ryan O'Keefe, Lokahi Pauole and Alex Ward (also a third-team preseason All-America choice)--have received some sort of all-conference mention in either the Athlon Sports, Lindy's or Phil Steele 2022 preseason college football preview magazines.

 

Here's where the Knights appeared in All-American Athletic Conference preseason selections by those three publications:

--CB Davonte Brown: Athlon and Lindy's first team, Phil Steele second team

--WR/All-Purpose Ryan O'Keefe: Athlon and Phil Steele first team, Lindy's second team

--OL Lokahi Pauole: Lindy's and Phil Steele first team, Athlon second team

--LS Alex Ward: Phil Steele first team

--DL Ricky Barber: Athlon and Lindy's second team, Phil Steele third team

--RB Isaiah Bowser: Athlon, Lindy's and Phil Steele second team

--OL Samuel Jackson: Lindy's second team, Athlon and Phil Steele third team

--C Matt Lee: Athlon second team, Phil Steele third team

--DL Tre'mon Morris-Brash: Athlon and Phil Steele second team

--S Divaad Wilson: Athlon second team

--S Jarvis Ware: Phil Steele second team

--S Quadric Bullard: Phil Steele third team, Athlon fourth team

--WR Kobe Hudson: Athlon and Phil Steele third team

--CB Corey Thornton: Athlon third team

--OL Ryan Swoboda: Phil Steele third team

--LB Jeremiah Jean-Baptiste: Athlon fourth team

--PR Amari Johnson: Athlon fourth team

--LB Terrence Lewis: Phil Steele fourth team

--RB/All-Purpose Johnny Richardson: Athlon and Phil Steele fourth team

 

Phil Steel rated Ward the third-team All-America long snapper.

 

Lindy's listed Bowser as "toughest to bring down" and rated Brown as "best cover corner."

 

Phil Steele's unit rankings placed UCF's defensive backs eighth nationally, receivers 23rd and running backs 23rd.

 

Phil Steele rated UCF 17th nationally and second in the AAC.

 

The Phil Steele unit rankings listed UCF's running backs, receivers and defensive backs as best in the AAC.
