Women's Soccer Hits the Road to Take On North Florida

The UCF women's soccer team travels up to Jacksonville on Thursday to face North Florida at 7 p.m. ET.

The Knights erased an early FGCU goal with three of their own on Sunday afternoon at the UCF Soccer Complex. The 3-1 win extended UCF's home winning streak to four and moved their record to 2-0-2 in the new season.

Over four matches this year, Caroline DeLisle and the UCF defense have held opponents to just two goals on 41 shots. Kristen Scott netted two and secured a spot on this week's AAC Honor Roll. Scott now has three of the Knights seven goals on just eight shots to start the season.

The Black and Gold make the short trip up north for their third all-time meeting with the Ospreys and first since 2013. In the two previous matchups, UCF has scored eight and allowed just a single goal.

That last match in 2013 was played in Temple Terrace at the USF Soccer Classic and saw the Knights win commandingly 5-0. That victory was Coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak's fourth with the Knights after being appointed earlier that year, she now has 101 wins with the program, reaching the century mark in the season opener against Florida.

Coach Roberts Sahaydak won't be making the journey to Jacksonville with the squad as she's currently with the United States Women's National Team where she serves as Assistant coach ahead of their September Friendly play. Associate Head Coach Tim Sahaydak will be taking over the head coaching duties in her absence.

The Knights have started off their last two seasons with two wins from four. Though unlike 2020 and 2021, they're also without a loss in their first four as UCF's outscored opponents 7-2 and have kept a clean sheet in two of the matches. The lone goal in the first two road ties was a Katie Bradley freekick in the first half against LSU in Batton Rouge.

The Ospreys have begun the season with one win and two defeats, losing 1-0 to Miami in Coral Gables last time out. UNF has scored two, both coming at home, and conceded four in their first three matches.

The match will be streamed on SWOOPLife Live.
