Themus Fulks has been named to the All-Big 12 Third Team and All-Newcomer Team, the conference announced on March 9. Fulks, who plays point guard for the UCF Knights, has played a key role in leading the team’s offense throughout the season.
Fulks’ recognition comes after a standout year in which he averaged 14.4 points per game and led his team with 6.8 assists per contest over 30 games. He was selected to the Big 12 Starting Five three times this season and currently ranks third among active Division I players with a total of 780 career assists. This season, he set a new program record with 205 assists, surpassing the previous single-season mark of 183 set by Sinua Phillips during the 1991-92 season.
Fulks achieved several milestones this year, including becoming the first Knight to record five double-digit assist games in one season and posting four point-assist double-doubles—the most by any UCF player this century. He also became the first player in program history to have back-to-back games with at least ten assists.
One of Fulks’ most notable performances came against No. 1 Arizona on January 17, when he scored a career-high 30 points, contributed eight assists, and grabbed five rebounds. This made him just the fourth Division I player in three decades to tally at least thirty points, five rebounds, and five assists against a top-ranked opponent. Earlier in the season against Quinnipiac, Fulks recorded a career-high thirteen assists—the highest by a UCF player since Brandon Goodwin’s thirteen at Tulane in February 2015—finishing just one short of tying the program’s single-game record.
With these achievements behind him, Fulks will lead UCF into the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City on Wednesday, March 11 at 3 p.m., where they will face either Utah or Cincinnati.
