The UCF baseball team announced on May 7 that it will travel to Waco, Texas, this week for its final Big 12 Conference road series of the season at Baylor. The three-game series is scheduled from Friday through Sunday at Baylor Ballpark, with all games airing live on ESPN+ and radio coverage available on FM 96.9 The Game and the iHeartRadio app.
The Knights currently hold fourth place in the Big 12 standings with a record of 27-18 overall and a conference mark of 15-9, their highest number of league wins since joining the conference in 2024. UCF enters the weekend having won six out of its last nine games and is receiving votes in this week’s NCBWA Top 25 Poll.
Last weekend, UCF dropped two out of three games to No.19 Arizona State at home before falling to Florida Atlantic earlier this week. Notable performances included back-to-back first-inning home runs by Zak Skinner and Javier Crespo during Friday’s opener against Arizona State. In relief pitching, Roman Kimball threw over four innings allowing just one run while Evan Jones secured a save by escaping bases-loaded situations late in Saturday’s resumed game.
Season leaders for UCF include senior catcher Skinner with a .361 batting average and senior third baseman Crespo close behind at .324. Senior outfielder John Smith III leads the team in home runs (11) and RBIs (42), while junior right-hander Camden Wicker tops starting pitchers with a 4-2 record and a 3.38 ERA.
Baylor comes into the series with an overall record of 25-23 and an even split in past meetings between these teams at three wins each. The Bears are led offensively by Travis Sanders (.368 average) and Tyce Armstrong, who has hit twenty-one home runs this season.
Looking ahead, after facing Baylor, UCF will return home for its final regular-season games before participating in the Big 12 Baseball Tournament later this month.
