The UCF baseball team will begin a four-game road trip against Florida Atlantic University on Tuesday evening in Boca Raton, according to a May 4 announcement. The matchup at FAU Baseball Stadium is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
This game is the last road midweek contest of the season for UCF. The Knights currently hold a 27-17 overall record and are fourth in the Big 12 standings with a conference record of 15-9, which marks their best performance since joining the league prior to the 2024 season. UCF is also receiving votes in this week’s National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25 Poll.
Last week, UCF went 2-2, including a win over Stetson and dropping two out of three games to No.19 Arizona State at home. In that series, Zak Skinner and Javier Crespo contributed back-to-back first-inning home runs during Friday’s opener, while Roman Kimball delivered strong relief pitching after an injury sidelined Kris Sosnowski during Saturday’s suspended game. Crespo led offensively by going four-for-four with a home run in one game.
Season leaders for UCF include Skinner with a .368 batting average and Smith III leading with eleven home runs and forty-two RBIs. On the mound, Camden Wicker leads starters with a 4-2 record and a 3.38 earned run average (ERA), while relievers Sosnowski, Evan Jones, and Kevin Schoneboom have been effective from the bullpen.
Florida Atlantic enters Tuesday’s contest holding a 24-23 overall record and tied for fifth place in their conference standings at ten wins each. The Owls have won five of their last seven games under head coach John McCormack who recently surpassed six hundred career wins.
Tuesday’s meeting marks the ninety-third all-time matchup between these teams; UCF leads historically with fifty wins to forty-two losses against FAU.
