The NCAA Auburn Regional opener between the second-seeded UCF Knights and third-seeded NC State Wolfpack was suspended in the top of the eighth inning on May 30 at Plainsman Park in Auburn, Alabama, due to weather. The game will resume on Saturday at 12 p.m. Eastern Time.
At the time of suspension, UCF held a 9-3 lead over NC State in the top of the eighth inning. Andrew Williamson contributed three home runs and helped secure nine unanswered runs for UCF before play was halted.
Once play resumes and concludes, the winner will advance to face fourth-seeded Milwaukee Panthers in the winner’s bracket on Saturday evening at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. The losing team will play against top seed and No. 4 national seed Auburn in an elimination game scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. Eastern Time.
