The UCF Knights men’s soccer team ended its 2025 season after a 2-0 loss to Georgetown in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday evening in Washington, D.C. The match remained scoreless for nearly 70 minutes before Georgetown, ranked No. 15 nationally and seeded seventh, scored twice in the final 21 minutes.
With this result, UCF finishes the season with an overall record of 11-7-3 and as champions of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. This marks the program’s fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament’s round of 32 under head coach Scott Calabrese and its seventh overall.
Despite being unable to score against Georgetown, UCF matched their opponent with four shots on target out of ten total attempts. Georgetown entered the match ranked among the top 20 teams nationally in goals per game, assists per game, and points per game.
UCF secured its place in this round after a first-round win over Florida Atlantic earlier in the week. The Knights’ recent conference title also represents their second double-digit win season in three years and their fourth under Calabrese.
