The University of Central Florida track and field team recorded several personal-best performances during the Florida Pepsi Relays in Gainesville, according to an April 4 announcement. The No. 16 ranked Knights saw standout results across multiple events, including a major victory in the distance races.
The meet was highlighted by Alexandra Raquet’s win in the 5000-meter race with a time of 16:18.50, which not only marked her personal best but also placed her second all-time in UCF program history for that event. The strong showing reflects continued progress for the team as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
In other events, Kendall Hughes finished third in the 1500-meter run with a new personal record of 4:32.01, while Bailey McLain secured seventh place in her section with a time of 4:35.20. Jazmen Newberry improved on her previous week’s performance by finishing fourth in the 400 meters at a personal-best time of 51.87 seconds.
Genelle Stephens achieved another milestone by recording a personal best of 58.57 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles, and Toni Galloway advanced to finals after placing fourth in preliminaries for the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.27 seconds. In field events, Angelina Horn led UCF athletes with sixth place in triple jump at a mark of 12.61 meters.
Relay teams also contributed to UCF’s success; Newberry teamed up with Janiah Pulliam, Datavia Hunter, and Aaliyah Gipson to post a time of 43.57 seconds in the women’s four-by-100 meter relay final—tying them for eighth-best on UCF’s all-time list.
Additional notable performances included Ava Quattrocchi’s new personal record (17:19.89) in the women’s five thousand meters and Raquel Edwards’ best-ever finish (2:11.05) over eight hundred meters.
Looking ahead, UCF will compete next at the USF Invitational scheduled for April 10-11 at USF Track and Field Stadium.
