Seminole County recently issued the following announcement.

HOMEOWNERS: Seminole County’s Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program (EMAP) will close on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. Applicants may access the portal and submit new applications for mortgage assistance through the close of the program. Eligibility includes low-to-moderate income homeowners who have experienced negative financial impacts due to COVID-19; complete qualifying criteria is detailed at SeminoleCountyFL.gov/EMAP.

Lack of eligible applicants and program participation is the cause for closure. EMAP is funded through U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); monies remaining in the program will be reallocated as community needs demand. To date, the program has provided $820,000 to 62 households

The Emergency Rental Assistance Program remains open. Renters should visit SeminoleCountyFL.gov/ERAP for information or to apply.

Applicants needing assistance with computer access or scanning and uploading required documents should call 407-665-2300 to schedule an appointment at the Application Assistance Center, located at 520 West Lake Mary Boulevard, Sanford, FL 32773.
