Sanford City Manager Norton Bonaparte today announced his selection of Nicole (Nikki) Osburn to be the City’s new Community Relations and Neighborhood Engagement Director.  She will be replacing Andrew Thomas who has announced his retirement.

Ms. Osburn has been an employee of the City of Sanford since 2008 and has held positions in the Finance Department, the Sanford Police Department, and the City Manager’s Office.  In her new role, she will be responsible for the City of Sanford’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), and will represent the City of Sanford on various initiatives looking to address homelessness.

Ms. Osburn brings to her new role a passion and knowledge of the Sanford community, along with her commitment to providing the residents of Sanford with exemplary service.

One of the City of Sanford’s priorities is to promote from within where possible.  “Ms. Osburn has qualities I look for in a leader: integrity, empathy, gratitude, and self-awareness.  I have full confidence that she will perform in this role in an outstanding manner that benefits our residents,” said City Manager Bonaparte.

“It is an honor and a privilege to serve the residents of the City of Sanford as the new Community Relations and Neighborhood Engagement Director. As a resident and employee of the City, I will continue to support citizen engagement with local government while promoting community pride.  Good relationships start with good communications,” said Nicole Osburn.

Ms. Osburn holds a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida and has completed numerous supervisory and management training programs. She enjoys working with the community.  She currently serves as a Seminole County Public School mentor, is a graduate of both Leadership Seminole and the City of Sanford Citizens Academy.  She has been actively volunteering with the Sanford Police Department for over 6 years.

Congratulations Nikki!
