Green Business Recognition Program citywide cleanup

The City of Winter Park’s Sustainability Division is partnering with businesses from their Green Business Recognition Program to host a selfdirected citywide cleanup. For an entire weekend, Friday, October 14, through Sunday, October 16, the community is invited to assist in cleaning up a city park, greenspace or watershed.

Registration for this cleanup is required via Eventbrite, phone call or email. Once you have registered, the city’s Sustainability team will email you a Green Business location to pick up your volunteer materials and an assigned area within Winter Park you can help clean up. Make sure you download the Clean Swell® app to record and share your cleanup collection. When the weekend is over, the city’s Sustainability Division will announce the final number of pounds collected.

The Green Business Recognition Program acknowledges local businesses who have made substantial efforts in implementing environmentally sustainable practices. Recognition is given to those companies who can display eco-conscious building, food, mobility and waste diversion choices. This voluntary program is free and provides businesses with guidance on how to increase the sustainability of their establishment as well as opportunities for peer networking within our city. The Sustainability Division will also host similar events to specifically promote the efforts of these businesses.
