Food Drive

The Maitland Police Department is collecting unexpired, non-perishable food items through Nov. 17 to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

Drop off food inside collections located at the Police Department, 1837 Fennell St., City Hall, 1776 Independence Lane, the Venue on the Lake (Civic Center), 641 S. Maitland Ave., and KBF Design Gallery, 1295 S. Orlando Ave.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private, nonprofit organization that collects, stores and distributes donated food to more than 500 feeding partners in six Central Florida counties: Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia.

Last year, with the help of numerous donors, volunteers and a caring, committed community, the food bank distributed enough food for 97 million meals to partner programs such as food pantries, soup kitchens, women’s shelters, senior centers, day care centers and Kids Cafes.
