Santa rolls into Oakland on Dec. 3 for ‘Santa’s Lane’

Offering exciting experiences and classic holiday joy, the Town of Oakland is thrilled to announce “Santa’s Lane” is returning bigger and jollier than ever with more sparkling lights and new activities including an alpine slide, snow flurries, food trucks, music and more!

Presented by Duke Energy, “Santa’s Lane” will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Oakland Town Center, located at 230 N. Tubb St. Guests will have the opportunity to sit with Santa for a free photo opportunity and kids will go home with a special treat from the North Pole, while supplies last.

With its quaint downtown, historic buildings and moss-covered oak trees draped in garland, bows and thousands of twinkling lights, Oakland during the holidays has been compared to a Hallmark movie. Visitors will have the opportunity to revel in holiday spirit among the perfect small-town backdrop and enjoy experiences, such as:

Zip down the inflatable Alpine snow slide in a tube

Catch snowflakes on your nose along the West Orange Trail in the Snow Zone sponsored by Healthy West Orange

Enjoy arts and crafts, bounce houses, milk and cookies, and more in the Family Zone sponsored by The Lakeside Church

Take selfies at festive photo backdrops

Vote for your favorite tree in the “Trees of the Season” contest at the Healthy West Orange Arts and Heritage Center

Peruse art and history at the “Among the Oaks” exhibit at the Healthy West Orange Arts and Heritage Center

Dance as Celebrity DJ Renee plays merry music

Wave to Santa and his elves prior to the event as he cruises Town in a red-hot convertible, greeting guests in their front yards

Santa’s Lane is presented by Duke Energy with additional sponsors including The Lakeside Church, Orlando Health, Healthy West Orange, Paradise Landscaping, Waste Management, Lakeview Networks LLC, Oakland Presbyterian Church, and West Orange Creamery.
