CITY OF LONGWOOD BUSINESS PERSON OF THE MONTH 

At the March 6, 2023, City Commission Meeting, the Longwood City Commission presented Karen Hager, Accounting/HR Manager of A.B. Design Group, LLC., located at 1441 N. Ronald Reagan Blvd., the Business Person of the Month Award for March 2023.   

A.B. Design Group, LLC., (ABDG) based in Longwood has developed into a premier full-service architectural firm, founded on residential architecture. The firm was established in 1994 with a clear vision of providing their clients superior customer service. The firm continues to excel with numerous architectural projects through-out the state of Florida. Since their inception, premium quality and customer service has always been the driving force behind all of their work.

Karen is one who does it all.  She is highly skilled, organized, massively creative, has a passion for the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and donates 100% of her talents to this great association.  In 2006 when she joined NAWIC, she was quiet and reserved. As she became more involved, she grew into a dynamic, influential leader, not only in NAWIC, but also at work with A.B Design as the Accounting/HR Manager. She proves every day that you can do and be anything you set your mind to.

Since 2006, Karen has held various positions in NAWIC locally, regionally, and nationally. In August 2023, she will be sworn in as the 2023-2024 National President of NAWIC. Chapters throughout the US will soon get to see what the Greater Orlando chapter already knows. Karen is a dedicated mentor and leader ready to lead the National Association of Women in Construction. The core mission of NAWIC is to strengthen and amplify the success of women in the construction industry. Karen Hager exemplifies the mission in all that she does to move this organization into the future.
